The names listed in this downloadable file are those identified to date (29 March 2010) for inclusion in the North Down First World War Book of Honour.

The information has been obtained from a range of sources and some variations will be noted in:

  • The spelling of Surnames, Forenames and Place names extracted from records searched to date
  • The relationship between Primary and Secondary Addresses extracted from records searched to date; examples include: Bangor / Conlig; Craigavad / Holywood etc

Work is ongoing to cross-reference the data already extracted and the objective of presenting a list of names at this stage is to ask for:

  • Additional names of soldiers, seamen, airmen and nurses who died on active service or from causes attributable to service up to the end of August 1921.
  • Biographical details and photographs relating to the names already listed and also for any additional names suggested.
