BREEZEMOUNT CitIzens Advice Bureau has been re-launched this week after it was forced to close in June 2008 due to a lack of funding. The service will run from the Breezemount Community Association offices every Wednesday morning and will be open to the residents of Breezemount and the surrounding areas including Stonebridge and Ardvanagh.
The Department of Social Development agreed to provide funding for the service after the Breezemount Community Association offered their premises free of charge.
Zoe Mageean, generalist advisor at the Citzens Advice Bureau in Bangor will be available every Wednesday to offer advice in a range of areas from housing and consumer debt to more practical advice such as filling in forms and explaining letters.
Anne Mc Crea, Community Project worker at the Breezemount Community Association said, "We´re delighted that the Citizens Advice Bureau is back,we´ve waited a long time and I´m sure the residents will benefit a lot from the service.Everyone is welcome"
Ulster Unionist Councillor Harry Dunlop, was thanked by the Breezemount Community Association for his support and assistance on securing the funding for the service.
Councillor Dunlop, who was joined at the re-launch by his wife Councillor Roberta Dunlop, said, "I have pushed for the funding and gladly when money became available, Breezemount got the benefit of it. It is badly needed, there are a lot of people in debt, this is a place where low income families can come and get help," he said.
The Breezemount Citizens Advice drop-in service will run every Wednesday morning between 10-12pm.
