NOTORIOUS Bangor con artist Mark Townley has been arrested again – for threatening to kill Prince Harry.
Townley hit the headlines three years ago when he was accused of defrauding several groups, including locals Rathgael Gymnastics Club and charity Food For Thought Africa, and leaving them thousands of pounds out of pocket.
Last weekend it emerged that Townley, now calling himself Ashraf Islam, walked into a police station in England the day after the shocking murder of drummer Lee Rigby and claimed he wanted to kill Prince Harry.
According to reports in the national press, arresting officers discovered that the 30 year old has visited terrorist and firearms websites and had carried out internet searches for ‘kidnapping’, ‘guns’ and ‘vans’ on his laptop.
He is reported to have already appeared at Uxbridge Magistrate’s Court in west London to plead guilty to threatening to kill the prince.
Dodgy dealing Townley’s got a string of convictions to his name, including a suspended sentence for running a fake bodyguard scheme aimed at ex-soldiers in Liverpool.
