New look Seasiders mean business

BANGOR Football Club´s new look team showed that they are looking to put last season´s disappointments behind them with a fine performance at Seaview last Saturday.

Colin McCurdy´s charges came from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Premiership side 2-1. All the goals came in the second half with the home team opening the scoring on 55 minutes through substitute Ben Roy but Andy Morrow - who also came on after the break - equalised on 76 minutes and Jonny Bowers hit the winner on 86 minutes.

Early days yet but hopefully the omens are good for the coming campaign. Manager Colin McCurdy: “This was another good pre-season workout. The players have been working hard three or four nights a week to improve fitness levels.

“Although the result in these pre-season matches is of secondary importance, it was a boost to morale to come away with a 2-1 win against a team which finished in fourth place in the Premiership last season. We are looking to build a squad which has strength in depth and in which every player is fighting for his place.”
